The COUNCIL was established in 1958 by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate to ensure that its examinations become adapted to the educational needs of the country and assign the ultimate control of the same on the COUNCIL. The COUNCIL was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on 19 December, 1967.
The results of the Indian School Certificate (ISC) 12th and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) 10th Class exams will be announced by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations on May 17th, 2013. Every year lakhs of students across the country appear for the examinations conducted by the council.
The results are expected to come out on May 17 by before 3 pm. Students need not to panic as there is a provision of re-totaling by the board. Original mark sheets will arrive at the schools a week after the declaration of results.
Students can also get their results via SMS by texting their index number on 51818, 56263, 58888 and 5676750.
The results are likely to be announced between 11am and 3pm on Friday.
Around 1.5 lakh students appeared for the ICSE exam and another 60,000 for the ISC exam this year. There are around 1930 and 800 ICSE and ISC schools in the country respectively. The 10th Class had started on February 27 and that of Class 12 on February 4.
Karnataka has the third largest number if ICSE schools after West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
