10th Class/Matriculation

The applicants should have completed 18 years by January 1, 2013.   

The age limit was 25 years for general category candidates, 27 for Backward Classes, and 30 for the SC/STs.

Applications could be collected on payment of Rs.100 during office hours on all working days till September 30.

Selection Process:
Those who cleared the written test would be allowed to take the physical test.

The selected candidates would get a honorarium of Rs.7,500 and there would be no other benefits,

After Selection:
The candidates would receive training in driving police vehicles and obtaining driving licence for heavy and light vehicles, wireless communications, night patrolling, computer operations, introduction to Major and Minor Criminal Acts, training in public relations, and first aid. 

Members of the youth brigade, who complete one year of service successfully in all the areas, would be eligible to appear for a common State-level examination to be conducted by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board separately for absorption in the Tamil Nadu Police Force based on merits.
