The Class XII board exams started with English, while the class X exams began with minor subjects. This year 45,374 students have registered from the northeast to appear in CBSE's class XII board exams. On the other hand, 45,973 students from the region will appear in the class X board-based exam, while 13,409 students will take the school-based exam. The CBSE board exams are being conducted across 299 centers in the northeast this year.
More than 30,000 students appeared for Class XII board exams across state at 84 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) centres on March 1st,. More than 11,000 students appeared for the exam in the Ranchi city. Class X board examination was also scheduled to be held on March 1st, 2014. Students were to appear for painting and regional language papers. But as there were no takers for these subjects in the state. According to information provided by CBSE regional office, Patna, around 84,000 students will be appearing for Class X and XII board examination from Bihar and Jharkhand. Class XII examinations will conclude on April 17 and Class X examinations on March 10, 2014.
CBSE has last year decided to include value-based questions by making students aware of issues like individual dignity, equality and social inclusiveness, education where values are blended with the content of all the major subjects in classes XI to XII. The board gave 5% weightage to value education in major subjects (English, Hindi, mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, accountancy, history, geography, business studies, entrepreneurship and economics) in classes XI and XII through questions, which will be integrated with the content of the subject and analysed on the basis of the values it reflects.
11,377 class XII students appeared for the English examination while class X students appeared for painting (optional) examination at 18 centres in the Lucknow city. For class XII students, the next exam is History on March 4 while class X students have their first major exam on March 3 which is Mathematics. The exam begins at 10.30 am and will finish at 1.30 pm.
