Consortium had completed a decade of existence. As many as 96,100 candidates will be writing the test in 134 centres, of which 97 are in Bangalore and the remaining in other parts of the State. Of the total number of candidates, 45,235 are appearing for medical (PCB - physics, chemistry, biology), 38,295 for engineering (PCM - physics, chemistry, mathematics), and 12,570 for medical as well as engineering (PCMB).

Total 17,698 engineering seats, 835 medical seats and 766 dental seats were available this year. He added that the number of applications for the test this year had gone up marginally - 1,000 more applications were received for engineering and 5,000 more for medical compared with last year. Zone-wise, 56 per cent of the total applicants were from south India (including Karnataka), 24.5 per cent from east India, 13.5 per cent from the north and 6 per cent from the west. Candidates from Karnataka constitute 27 per cent of the total number of applicants.
The PCM test will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the paper for physics and chemistry will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon; biology and English will be from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. The papers are for 60 marks each. COMEDK has taken precautions to prevent malpractices, including seat blocking. Students who have passed Class 12/II PU before 2012 will not be allowed to appear for UGET.
