Special precautions will be taken for medical stream examination this year after the rigged PG Medical stream examination conducted by NTR University of Health Sciences. To prevent such an embarrassing occurrence, officials have been checking the background details of candidates who have been appearing for medical stream examinations since 1995.

A total of 771 students who will appear for medical stream this year have already appeared for the same, Eamcet officials revealed. While about 57 students appeared twice for the examination, 12 students sat for the test thrice and three students, four times. Regional test centres where the number of candidates to appear is almost equal to the number of candidates appearing for engineering stream, will be specially scrutinized by police, as this is an unsual phenomenon.
The examination is scheduled to be held on May 25. Officials have already handed over the addresses and phone numbers of such candidates to the intelligence wing of the police department. Details of candidates who have applied to regions other than their place of study or residence would be provided to the intelligence or police officials for verification, officials said. Women police officials will be present at the centre for frisking of female candidates.
