With a large number of candidates appearing at the written exam, the railways would equally be under pressure. The police recruitment board said the results of written exam would be announced within four months, which would be followed by physical test for the qualifying candidates.
20 held for racket in exam for constables:
Patna police arrested more than 20 alleged 'scholars' and fake candidates who were supposed to appear at the written examination for recruitment of constables for Bihar police held on Oct 19th, 2014. While scholars dictate answers to the questions asked from outside the examination hall, fake candidates take the exam in place of the real candidates.
Six persons were arrested from S K Puri police station area, two under Janipur police station area, three under Patrakar Nagar and one each from Danapur and Gardanibagh police station areas. 35 persons were arrested across the state in connection with the racket. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Patna police also arrested nine persons, including a woman, from NIT Mor under Pirbahore police station area Oct 18th night.
More than 20 persons. Original identity cards and educational certificates, improvised Bluetooth devices, mobile phones and cash were recovered from their possession. The numbers of arrests may increase once we compile reports of the whole district. Around 40,000 candidates appeared at the examination held at 80 centres in Patna district.
The gang was using improvised Bluetooth-enabled device and earpiece to commit fraud at the examination. Police teams are looking for the mastermind. The mastermind finalized deals with candidates at the rate of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. He was to get paid after the selection of candidate, but a minimum amount of advance money was received from the candidate before the examination. Use of unfair means at the examination is not new in Bihar but the involvement of students from well-off families is shocking. The masterminds of such gangs also provide mobile phones resembling wrist watches to get answers to questions in the examination hall of competitive examinations.
