The pass percentage of the Kerala SSLC equivalency examination conducted by the Kerala State Literacy Mission Authority and the General Education Department has been pegged at 83.86. Total 20,042 candidates who appeared for the examination, 16,809 candidates secured D+ grade and above. As many as 29 candidates secured ‘A’ grade. None of them got A+ grade. The grading system was introduced in 2012. Grades are awarded on the basis of a continuous evaluation system which judges the intelligence and creativity of the candidates.

This score will be added to the marks secured for the written examination too. The minimum score for the written examination has been fixed at 25 per cent. Those who have completed 17 years of age and could not appear for the SSLC examination and also those who could not pass the examination before 2005 join the equivalency course.

Kottarakara district has the distinction of sending 210 candidates for the examination, of which 202 secured D+ grade and also registering a pass percentage of 96.19. Thodupuzha has the lowest pass percentage of 61.74. Of the 230 students who took the examination, 142 secured D+ grade and above. Malappuram had the highest number of 2,211 candidates, of which 1,850 candidates secured D+ grade and above. It has a pass percentage of 83.67
