The Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical & Engineering Training (CIFNET) has invited applications from candidates who have passed 10+2 for admission to the four-year (eight semesters) Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science), affiliated to CUSAT and approved by the Director General of Shipping, Mumbai.


All applicants (except students sponsored by NRI & Foreign Nationals) who wish to undergo this B.F.Sc.(N.S.) programme with CIFNET have to appear for a Common Entrance Test at CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi -16. The Common Entrance Test will be of objective type, which covers the topics of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English language. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. 


The candidates should have scored at least 50 per cent marks in Mathematics, 50 per cent marks in aggregate in other science subjects and a minimum of 50 per cent in English either at the Class 10 or Class 12 level. The candidates should be aged below 20, said an official release.


A Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted on June 6 at CIFNET, Kochi, Chennai and Visakhapatnam. The prospectus and application form can be had by post or in person from the Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi  16 on payment of an application fee of Rs.500 for General and Rs.250 for SC/ST candidates.



The fee can be paid by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Senior Administrative Officer, CIFNET payable in Kochi. A self-addressed stamped (Rs.15) envelope should also be attached. The last date for submitting applications is May 15. Applications can be downloaded from the website www.cifnet.gov.in.
