TNPSC Group 4 Candidates 2014 Dec who took the Group IV exams in December last say the Commission has postponed the results twice so far. “It was first announced that the results would be announced in March. But later we learnt that the results would be released on April 25. It is now middle of May and we still haven’t got the results,” said a candidate who is currently working in Pune.
According to TNPSC officials, as there is no age limit for taking the Group IV exams the number of applicants is also huge. As many as 12,72,298 candidates had registered for the exam conducted on December 21, 2014. The Commission offers online registration for the exams and accepts the claims made by the candidates in their online application forms. After the exam papers are corrected, the Commission begins the certificate verification process. “It is at this stage we learn that some of the claims are not correct. Someone may have claimed to have studied in the Tamil medium and we would have ranked him accordingly. But his papers would not conform to his claims. We would then have to readjust the ranks,” said an official.
The TNPSC faces similar claims with respect to community. Since ranks are based on community reservation when claims do not tally with the papers the candidates provide, the commission has to rework ranking accordingly. Officials say they confront such problems only with Group IV exams. The last time the commission held the Group IV exam was on August 25, 2013. The results were published on March 4, 2014. C. Balasubramanian, chairman in-charge, TNPSC, hoped the results could be published by May month end.
